In the end I’m glad we chose to go all the way to Beynac (the 3 hour route) as the end of the shorter route to Castelnaud (2 hours) came up way too soon we weren’t ready to stop! We were a little bit achey at the end but it didn’t feel like a massive effort, even on a very hot day - the river helps push you along.
